TV Roundup: Week of 5/6 to 5/12

This round up is a quick look back at this past week in TV. We pull no punches and Matthew, Mark and Omarey will give you their funny, angry, sometimes disappointed but always succinct thoughts on the shows they watch. SPOILER ALERT- Please only read things about shows you have already watched to ensure you don’t ruin your experience. Here’s a look at our thoughts about the week of 5/6 –  5/12

The Killing

Matthew: Classic The Killing… and by classic I mean mediocre like usual. Holder’s antics were entertaining and I hope he is okay because he’s by far the most interesting aspect of the show.

Omarey: Holder! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Sucks seeing him take the beating. It was fun seeing Linden being an awful mom so more. She is so good at it.

Modern Family

Matthew: After a few less than stellar outings from Modern Family, I really enjoyed this one. It is always good to see Dylan again and all three storylines worked well for me this week.
Omarey:
Everything in this episode worked. It was a really fun episode.

Revenge

Matthew:
I think the problem with doing a flashback episode of Revenge is that we have seen so much of the past via various flashbacks throughout the season already that it didn’t feel very necessary. It was fun to see a younger Amanda/Emily though and Jack’s hair was hilariously bad… so there was that.

30 Rock

Matthew:
I really enjoyed Avery’s return. She is such a great match for Jack and seeing what she was up to at the end was fantastic. It felt so right.
Omarey:
Avery is back and I am glad cause she is amazing. Jenna continues to be really strong this year and Tracy was more normal than usual it was kinda weird but awesome.

Community

Matthew:
I loved some of the various classes they rolled through like “Ladders” and the joke about how long people usually go to community colleges. Good episode
Omarey: I liked this year’s clip show so much more than last year. Was it a Shutter Island reference?

Scandal

Omarey:
I love a good flashback and this one was awesome. It brought the picture together so clearly. Really well done.

Touch

Omarey: I love seeing Martin and Clea together they are great. These stories are so intriguing on here, even if the outcomes are sorta predictable.

Person of Interest

Omarey:
I love all of the cast but Finch and Reese are the best they have this natural relationship that is just refreshing. I also love how they reveal the overarching mythology stuff. One of my favorite shows.

Awake

Matthew:
This show has really come on recently and this was a great episode. Really cool to see details of the accident coming to the forefront. Excited to see how this season finishes out.
Omarey:
This episode was awesome. It was cool to get the reveals about the accident. I didn’t need to hear that rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody so many times though. It was neat to see Kevin Weisman.

Fringe

Matthew:
I was really happy with the final episode of this season. Bell worked well as the villian here and I really liked all the scenes surrounding the “ark” at the end. Great finale. (Editor’s Pick Favorite Episode of the Week: Matthew)
Omarey: That is the perfect way to end this season. It really tied everything together. Crazed, evil William Bell was awesome. I am SO excited and thankful for season 5.   (Editor’s Pick Favorite Episode of the Week: Omarey)

  1. God I really wish Fringe was on Netflix or Hulu, you guys make it sound awesome. Hope you catch up on Korra soon Trip, want to see your thoughts on that.

    • Hopefully they will add that to Netflix one day. I imagine it might not happen until the series is over… who knows. Not sure if you’d like it, but it has a good sense of humor, so you might. Going to try and catch up on Korra soon and I will add it in here once I do.
