This round up is a quick look back at this past week in TV. We pull no punches and Matthew and Omarey will give you their funny, angry, sometimes disappointed but always succinct thoughts on the shows they watch. SPOILER ALERT- Please only read things about shows you have already watched to ensure you don’t ruin your experience. Here’s a look at our thoughts about the week of 11/18 – 11/24
The Walking Dead
Matthew: The phone call was good if not as good as in the books. The more I see how they are handling the Governor, the more I think they are botching it.
Omarey: Andrea you’re a major slut & the other problem is that you have the worst taste in men. Merle you are sadistic.
Matthew: Watching Saul listening to Carrie bang Brody was awkward and kind of funny for the wrong reasons. I actually thought the Dana plotline was alright. This is no Season 1 though. It just isn’t.
Omarey: The whole episode built up to the ending. How awkward was them listening to Carrie getting banged. Also is that the solution to all of the problems with Brody? Carrie will F his brains out? Brody is a lucky guy!
How I Met Your Mother
Matthew: Well after taking a few weeks off due to a DVR error, I have now caught back up and am happy to say that I am less angry at this show. It is still kind of mediocre in these episodes they handled the Victoria breakup quite badly, but it has had some good moments.
Omarey: This was one of the better episodes in recent memory. I know the Lebron jokes were dated but I still laughed. I like the back and forth between Robin and Barney but it needs to come to a head on their wedding day sooner rather than later.
Matthew: This episode was kind of a bore until the ending with Elizabeth Mitchell stabbing someone. Also if the tunnels are full of traps and Miles is the only one who knows the way, why are Charlie and Nora leading the way… without torches. This show is rather silly sometimes.
Omarey: It wouldn’t be a post-apocalyptic world without Reed Diamond. At least that’s complete. The Led Zeppelin music uses were kinda cool. Aaron’s delusion wasn’t even that effective, he is used to leaving his wife, haha.
Don’t Trust The B**** In Apt. 23
Omarey: The cold open was great. “Where did I tell you to put the emphasis?” The way Chloe cons June into doing stuff is amazing. “You think PEOPLE magazine would be interested that James Van Deer Beek ladeled and left?” Keep Rolling Forward. Wow June you made some kind of scene! Chloe giving her the money for Christmas was nice. PS-I love fake fights. (Episode of the Week)
The Mindy Project
Ben and Kate
Matthew: The “Junk Face” nickname was funny. Even better were Will’s guesses at the nickname like “Jesus Crotch Superstar” and the fact that BJ casually mentions “Junk Face” was her nickname at one point too.
Omarey: I like Kate’s boyfriend. Ben is amazing. I was genuinely and positively surprised at BJ and Ben being married. It was a fun twist.
Matthew: Alex trying to do Thanksgiving dinner was hilarious. There were some good things in all the plotlines this week, but I am still waiting for an episode this season to really blow me away and nail all the different stories for the week like it did so often in Season 2.
Omarey: Pre-Newtonian physics, no thank you. Brad’s British wiener conversation. 90s them was good. You who focus on 15/16ths of a man. Dave’s parallel with Native Americans was kinda hilarious. Jane and Brad, makeup and breakup stuff is always good, but I guess there are only so many times they can go to that well. The tag was funny as well.
Matthew: Lauren Graham was pretty great and I enjoyed seeing the Ryan and Steven competition at the end. Oh and “Electric Night” was hilarious.
Omarey: Lauren Graham’s appearance here was so good that it set up her future as a regular on this show. She and Ryan could be great together. I have also been digging Owen lately. I get made up songs stuck in my head too.
Matthew: Max was extra frustrating this week since Adam really needed him to be less annoying. And Drew is still pretty terrible, but everything else is working for me. This show continues to juggle multiple storylines, that range from light-hearted to very serious, in a wonderful way. (Episode of the Week)
Omarey: Mark Cyr is still the man too bad he is stuck with Drew, who is the worst. The stuff with Kristina’s cancer is sad but so well done. I am also loving Ryan York.
Matthew: Kind of a weak episode after the past couple of weeks. There was no drama in who was going home. Not looking forward to next week with all the Abi whining either. Once we get to the final six, it will hopefully get good again.
Omarey: Abi needs to be gone ASAP. I am glad that RC went to the jury early I get to see her looking lovely every week.
Matthew: There was nothing quite as thrilling as last week’s fight in the silos (which was seriously awesome), but I did particularly enjoy the ending and how it sets up for the last two episodes this season. Stephen finding out about Sam should be interesting and Ian getting setup as the sniper could be cool as well.
